Imrul Kayes, a stylish batsman, marked his entry into international cricket in 2008 after an impressive debut season in Bangladesh’s domestic circuit in 2007-08. Initially partnering with Tamim Iqbal due to opening struggles, Kayes faced challenges in translating his potential into on-field performances. He was dropped in late 2011, but undeterred, he worked hard to earn a recall in 2014.

Since his return, Kayes has established himself in the national side, particularly in Test cricket. While showing signs of resurgence in ODIs, consistency has been elusive. Despite statistical hurdles, his determination and polished play have kept him in contention. The years 2016 and 2018 showcased his prowess, although he missed the 2019 World Cup. Kayes, a work in progress, strives to solidify his status as a distinguished international batsman.
